Media Experts will provide a comprehensive view of news media’s future in the wrap up of the sessions focussing on “What’s next”.

Sarah Marshall

Sarah is head up audience growth for the international Vogue sites. She is a visiting lecturer at City University, teaching social media module on the MA in interactive journalism (two hours a week teaching time).

Sarah is also a (voluntary) director at Hacks/Hackers London, bringing together journalists (hacks) and technologists (hackers) with the aim of “rethinking the future of news and information”.

George Brock

George Brock

George is a consultant, commentator and Visiting Professor at City, University of London where he directed the journalism school (2009-14).

He began his career as a reporter at The Observer and worked for many years for The Times, including as Foreign Editor and Managing Editor.

He is the author of Out of Print: Newspapers, Journalism and the Business of News in the Digital Age.

Pierre Ruetschi

Pierre Ruetschi

Pierre Ruetschi began his career as a journalist at the Associated Press agency before joining the editorial staff of the Tribune de Genève, a major Swiss daily newspaper based in Geneva, where he was in charge of the investigation and reporting department. From 1995, he held the position of US correspondent for the same newspaper as well as 24 Heures. In 2006, he was appointed editor-in-chief of the Tribune de Genève. A position he held for 12 years.

Last year, he took over the management of the Swiss Press Club – Geneva Press Club while continuing to write reviews for the press and radio. He also teaches at the Media@lab of the University of Geneva.
